Frequently Asked Questions about Timex Expedition TW2Y14400 Tide-Temp-Compass
How is the analog compass calibrated?
The compass uses the fourth central hand to point North. An initial calibration following the steps in the official manual is required to adjust the sensor to local magnetism; once configured, the hand will guide you accurately on your routes.
Can it measure temperature while I am wearing the watch?
The sensor is very accurate, but to obtain an exact ambient temperature reading (air or water), it is recommended to remove the watch from your wrist for a few minutes to prevent body heat from influencing the measurement.
Does the INDIGLO® light use a lot of battery?
Although very efficient, this model uses a high-capacity CR2016 battery designed to power the light and sensor motors for several years with normal use before requiring replacement.
