Sporty watches to wear every day

Casio's sporty line for everyday life

Edifice is Casio's collection for those who want a watch with a sporty feel without it looking like it came straight off a racetrack. It was launched in 2000 and since then it has focused on a very specific profile: watches with clean dials, steel cases and a discreet yet well-resolved presence, designed to be worn every day.

They don't chase the extreme toughness of a G-Shock or the mountain features of a Pro Trek. Their territory is different: comfortable, accurate watches with a design that works just as well with casual clothes as with something a bit smarter. The part of Casio's catalogue you wear without having to think about it.

Quartz, automatic and models with extra features

Within Edifice there are several types of watch. Most models run on quartz movements, and some include solar power or radio synchronisation so you don't have to worry about the battery or setting the time. From there, the collection also includes chronographs with a sporty inspiration and models with more elaborate dials.

Since 2025, Edifice has also had automatic watches. The first was the EFK-100, Casio's first mechanical watch, and since then the line has grown with the EFK-110 and the EFK-200. These models use Japanese automatic movements and share the same approach: a watch with a sporty but restrained design, with a steel case, sapphire crystal and a presence that works for everyday life.

Frequently asked questions

What is Casio's Tough Solar technology?

Tough Solar is Casio's solar charging system. Solar cells built into the dial absorb light, both natural and artificial, and convert that energy into electricity to power the watch. The surplus energy is stored in a rechargeable battery that allows the watch to keep running for months even without exposure to light. In practice, it means you never have to change the battery.

What does it mean for an Edifice to be "radio controlled"?

A radio controlled watch receives time signals from atomic transmitters located in different parts of the world. These signals contain the exact time, and the watch adjusts automatically to it without you having to do anything. It's useful if you travel frequently or if you simply want the certainty that your watch shows the correct time to the second.

What is the world time function on an Edifice for?

World time lets you check the current time in other cities without having to do any calculations. Many Edifice models include this function with dozens of time zones, and on watches with Bluetooth connectivity you can switch between your local time and another location's directly from the app. It's a feature designed for those who travel or work with people in other countries.

What's the difference between an Edifice and a G-Shock?

The main difference is in the approach. G-Shock is designed to withstand impacts, vibrations and extreme conditions; it's a toughness-first watch. Edifice, on the other hand, prioritises a more restrained design and comfortable daily use, without giving up accuracy. If you want a watch that can take any knock, G-Shock. If you want something you can wear to the office and at the weekend too, Edifice.

Can Edifice watches get wet?

Most Edifice models have a water resistance of 100 metres (10 BAR), which means you can wear them while washing your hands, in the rain or even swimming on the surface. They aren't designed for scuba diving or deep dives, but for everyday use and light water activities, they're perfectly prepared.
