The Seiko 5 Sports HDB003K1 brings the well-known SKX aesthetic to a limited edition that stands out above all for its Edo purple dial. With a 42.5 mm diameter and production limited to 9,999 pieces worldwide, it keeps the sporty personality of Seiko 5 Sports but with a much more distinctive finish.
Edo purple is inspired by Edo-murasaki, a shade of purple associated with clothing during the Edo period. Seiko uses it here as the main design element, combining it with gold details on the Seiko 5 Sports logo and the Automatic inscription. The result is a dial that changes considerably depending on how the light hits it, thanks to its sunray finish.
The case takes the shapes of the SKX series as its starting point, with the crown at 4 o'clock and a unidirectional rotating bezel. The three-row stainless steel bracelet completes the package and maintains that sporty character, while the transparent case back allows you to see the automatic movement.
It is also designed for everyday use. It has 10 bar water resistance, LumiBrite on the hands and indexes for easy reading in low light, and a screw-down case back with the LIMITED EDITION inscription. These are details that maintain the functional character of Seiko 5 Sports even in an edition where design carries special weight.
